This might just be the most delicious bread in the entire world! I can’t do Cajun food without making up some of this amazing cajun bread to go with it. It’s very easy to make and is a combination of two of my other recipes.
Making (Or Buying) the bread
First you want to start with my French Bread recipe. You’ll want to go ahead and make that and let it cool completely. Believe me, learning to make French Bread is definitely a skill you’ll end up using again and again.
Or feel free to buy a loaf of French Bread at the store. You can generally find it at any grocery store. This is a perfectly ok option if you are on a time crunch, or just have a store bought french bread that you love!
French Bread is so delicious on it’s own, but it just doesn’t have the spicy hallmark of cajun cuisine. This means you will also need my Cajun seasoning recipe! Again, if you have store bought cajun seasoning it will work just as well. But every so often it is fun to make something completely from scratch! Lastly I want to point out that this bread is a testament to the versatility of one of my favorite spices: Cajun Seasoning!
Onto the directions!
Melt the butter and then pour it on the top of each half. Using a rubber spatula, spread the butter to the edges of the bread.
Spice it up!
Sprinkle the top with the Cajun seasoning and then place into the oven. Let bake at 400 degrees F. for 10-15 minutes until the edges start to get crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for several minutes and then cut into squares. I use a pizza cutter to cut the bread. It’s really convenient for this type of bread since you can’t cut it like a loaf. Serve with my Cajun-Style Black Bean and Vegetable Medley for a truly delicious dinner!
