The Wonderful World of Brownies!
There are so many different ways to make brownies. There are cakey brownies and fudgy brownies. Brownies made with bakers chocolate and brownies made with chocolate chips, some even made with both! Then there’s cocoa powder. Natural cocoa powder and dutch processed cocoa powder. Some brownies only use cocoa powder. Confused yet? Don’t be! By the end of this post you will know exactly how to make delicious fudgy brownies from scratch!
Today we are going to focus on brownies that use cocoa powder and chocolate!
Personally, I prefer fudgy brownies. That isn’t to say that I would ever turn down any other kind of brownie. But if I’m making brownies… I want them to be extra fudgy and chocolatey!
The difference in ending up with a cakey or fudgy brownie is all in the ratios of ingredients you add. A fudgy brownie will have more butter and chocolate than a cakey brownie. I use 3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks) and 2 cups of chocolate chips.
Mix up your batter and add all those mouth-watering chocolate chips! Then stir in the water, I like to use hot water to help sort of melt everything together. This makes the stirring and blending a lot easier. YUM!
It’s all about the pan!
I like using a brownie pan to make my brownies. It gives you a nice even edge that looks great. Plus every brownie is now a corner brownie! Plenty of chewy, chocolatey edges for everyone. Check it out in the link below, it really does make the best brownies.
The Perfect Fudgy Brownies From Scratch
Remember, make sure to thoroughly grease your pan before adding the batter to help ensure a smooth release!
Once the brownies come out of the oven. Let them sit in the pan for a few minutes. Then, transfer them to a cooling rack and let your brownies cool completely. In order to pop the brownies right out of the pan you might need to run a knife around the edge first. This will just help to loosen them.
