Homemade Cranberry Sauce In No Time!

Homemade Cranberry Sauce In No Time!

We’re back into the holiday season now! Not only is time for delicious desserts, but all the tasty food too. That means cranberries, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin have all made their way back onto our dinner table. It always surprises me how many people buy store bought cranberry sauce when it is so easy to make homemade. I think it looks like something that would be difficult but it is actually just the opposite! Best of all, homemade cranberry sauce only takes 6 ingredients and about 15 minutes to make!

Quick and Easy

Homemade cranberry sauce is also a really low maintenance dish to make. It only take about 12-15 minutes start to finish and that’s just the sauce simmering. All you really have to do is give it an occasional stir an watch as it becomes a beautiful, glistening sauce. And the smell! It’s the most aromatic and sweet of all the holiday dishes made around the holidays. I love the way it makes my own smell as it’s simmering on the stove top.

Sugar, Spice, and everything nice!

There is virtually no prep time involved in making cranberry sauce. Just put the fresh cranberries in a medium sauce pan with the sugars, cinnamon and red wine vinegar. Turn the heat to medium and give it a stir. The next 12-15 minutes you can go about prepping your other dishes or even just take a little break.

From Berry to Sauce in no time flat

It’s amazing to watch the transformation from berries to beautiful and festive holiday sauce. And in such a short time none the less. Once the sauce has thickened, remove it from the heat and add in the chopped pecans. You really want to make sure the pecans are finely chopped before you add them. That way the nutty flavor is distributed more evenly throughout the tart cranberries and tastes delicious! Next, I ran my pecans through the food processor for a few seconds to get them nice and chopped!
