I don’t think I’ve ever met a single person who didn’t like mozzarella cheese sticks. They’re so crispy, crunchy, oozing with delicious cheese– what’s not to like? Cheese sticks are perfect for an appetizer or snack, or to add into the mix for a deep fried night! Sever them with clam rolls, fried mushrooms or like I’m having them here with my crispy french fries!
To make them just mix up a simple batter by adding some flour, water, dried parsley, dried basil, salt and pepper. Mix it all up until it is a smooth consistency. In another small bowl, add some breadcrumbs to coat the mozzarella sticks. Then slice cheese into your desired length, I like to make them about 3 1/2 inches long. Dip the cheese into the batter and then into the breadcrumbs, tossing to coat completely. Place all the breaded Mozzarella sticks into the refrigerator to chill for about 30-45 minutes. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees and fry the Mozzarella sticks for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy!
