Yeast rolls are a great go-to side dish to know how to whip up. They go with just about any dinner you could make and are generally a favorite with most people. The other great thing about these rolls is how quickly they are made. You can have them ready and on the dinner table in 60 minutes and half of that is cook time! As the holiday season rolls around, these dinner rolls are definitely a recipe you want to have on hand. They complement any Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas ham! When you’re making a feast for the family, a quick and easy yeast roll is just what you need!
Making the yeast rolls is very simple because there are very few steps. And when you are using a stand mixer, there is especially little work to be done. All you have to do is add the flour, sugar, yeast and salt to the bowl of your stand mixer. In a separate bowl or saucepan, add the milk, water and butter. Heat it until it is just warm but not too hot to add to the yeast. (Remember, if the yeast is too the hot, the yeast will die and the dough won’t grow.) Then place the mixture into the bowl of the stand mixer, fitted with the dough hook attachment and stir for 3-5 minutes.
Once your dough is ready, shape it into 12 equal pieces and roll into balls. Place in a greased baking dish in a warm area. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake the rolls in an oven preheated to 375° for 15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. When the rolls come out of the oven, brush the tops with butter. This makes them look and taste delicious! Outside of serving these at holiday gatherings, try them with my Autumn Harvest Vegetables and Bratwurst for a hearty dinner.
